Keep in mind, we are always looking for people to help on committees, so please indicate if you would love to volunteer from time to time, even if you cannot join be a committee leader.
READY TO SIGN UP?
All committees have at least two co-chairs to share the responsibilities, and other parent volunteers can support your efforts. All positions are two-year terms. Co-chairs switch off to attend monthly PTA meetings (you don’t both have to attend every single month), typically held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the TMS/THS Library.

Per PTA by-laws, the Executive Board will vote to approve the new slate at its May meeting, after which all applicants will be contacted about the outcome.

Assists the President with duties, as needed.

Custodian of all funds; reconciles and pays receipts of committee expenditures; prepares and distributes budget for monthly meetings; keeps track of budget lines; keeps insurance current. The Treasurer helps with transition to a new treasurer after their two-year term is complete, to ensure continuity. |

Partnering with Welcoming Committee, SEPTA, and other committees, this committee brings a broad, inclusion‑centered perspective to PTA programs, events, and communications, considering culture, language, identity, family background, and community experiences. | 1 |

Communications |
Essential to keeping district families informed and engaged. Shares updates about PTA events, programs and initiatives through platforms such as the PTA website, emails, principal weekly emails (Cottle, MS/HS), & social media channels (Instagram, Facebook). Takes communication requests from all other PTA Executive Board committees and works closely with the PTA president to ensure messaging aligns with overall goals. Members of this committee should be comfortable creating graphics using Canva, updating web content, and creating social media posts. Consistent weekly contributions are needed to ensure timely and effective communication across all platforms. |

Supports and plans events recognizing school support teams including teacher’s back to school breakfast, custodian appreciation, school board appreciation, and teacher appreciation. | 2 |

| Cottle Subcommittee: Clubs & Coffees | Works with outside vendors to offer after-school clubs (Fall, Winter and Spring sessions) to Cottle cubs Pre-K through 5. Also works with principal and vice principal to organize 4 "Principal Coffees" throughout the year. | 2 |
| Cottle Subcommittee: Halloween Party | Works with Cottle Committee co-chairs to plan and execute the annual Halloween Party in October, including recruiting volunteers to oversee activity rooms, coordinating overall attendee experience. | 2 |
| Cottle Subcommittee: Field Day |
Works with Cottle Committee co-chairs and Cottle gym teachers to plan and execute the annual Field Day in June, including recruiting volunteers to help with outdoor activities and lunchtime barbecue, and helping to plan indoor assembly. | 2 |
| Cultural Arts | Coordinates student enrichment programs (assemblies, field trips) at all 3 schools, that focus on exploring arts, culture & theater. | 1 |
| Dance | Manages the September-May after-school dance program for K-12, including the Spring Recital. | 1 |

| Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) | Coordinates literacy activities and programming across the schools, mostly focused on Cottle. Possible events to be organized: assemblies/author visits, Books-n-Bites lunchtime book club with parent leaders at Cottle, Principal PJ Read-Alouds, & family literacy events. | 2 |
| Programs | Organize parent programming events incorporating the PTA General Meeting (2 per year), as well as the End of Year Celebration/Volunteer Recognition Night (June). | Welcoming | Plans and implements activities to welcome new families, with a focus on Pre-K and K families but intended to extend to all new families in the district from Pre-K through 12.
